Changes to CPU and platforms
Starting from version 5.94.0 we added sockets to CPU and platforms, as in earlier versions administrator had to specify type of sockets in platforms. If you skip this step, during diagnostics a platform with required socket will be created automatically, and server will be moved to that platform. Platform name will look like this: 1xUNIT_1xLGA2011.
Once you specify correct socket in all your platforms, you may use the following automation tools:
#This command will try to choose CPU for servers that have not run diagnostics for a long time, or if CPU is not specified for them. /usr/local/mgr5/sbin/mgrctl -m dcimgr fix.empty_cpu
#This command will choose platform for server according to its socket. #This can help, if socket is not specified for platforms, or platform socket do not correspond to CPU socket. /usr/local/mgr5/sbin/mgrctl -m dcimgr fix.chassis.template
#This command will synchronize a configuration field according to hardware installed in server. /usr/local/mgr5/sbin/mgrctl -m dcimgr fix.chassis.genname
We recommend executing the commands in the same order as they are given in this article.
