Automatic troubleshooting

DCImanager finds and automatically fixes many common device problems, and tracks their current statuses. The list of problems can be found in the Problems module.

The following issues are currently registered:

DHCP-server goes down (critical error)

DCImanager failed to (re)start the DHCP-service. Clicking the "Fix" icon will try to restart it.

Possible cause of the issue:

  • The service configuration file is corrupted.
  • The service start script is corrupted.

Server operation failed (error)

An error occurred while running an operation (diagnostics/reinstallation/recovery).

  • Invalid OS template
  • "DHCP server goes down" (see. description above)
  • Server operation timeout

This issue cannot be resolved automatically.

Device connection failed (error)

The device didn't respond to DCImanager while trying to complete a selected operation. Clicking the "Fix" icon will try to refresh ports of that device.

  • Invalid device address
  • Incorrect SNMP version
  • Device is off

An error occurred while exchanging data with device (error)

  • Response format from the device does not correspond to expected response
  • Unknown error occurred while working with that device

This issue cannot be resolved automatically.

This function is not supported by device (warning)

The handler associated with that device does not support the specified function.
