PDU management

This module can be used to add and manage power distribution units.

You can register new devices, edit and delete exisitng ones and configure ports through which you are managing PDU.

View a list of PDU

  • Name - the name of the switch.
  • Device type - the PDU type.
  • IP address - the IP address of the device.
  • Number of ports - the number of ports (used/maximum).
  • Rack - the rack where this equipment is installed. Not displayed in DCImanager Essential.
  • Notes - additional information related to this PDU.

Add PDU

To register a new power distribution unit, click the "New" icon and fill out the form:

  • Name - enter the name for the PDU.
  • IP address - enter an IP address that is used to access the device.
  • Device - select a type of the PDU.
  • Rack - select a rack where this equipment is installed. Not displayed in DCImanager Essential.
  • Notes - provide additional information related to this PDU.

Step 2 Access

The number of tabs will vary depending on the device selected.

The "SNMP settings"

  • Version - SNMP version, supported by these devices.
  • Community - community for access to the device (only for SNMP v1 and v2c).
  • Privileges - access level (only for SNMP v3)
  • User - enter a login for access.
  • Password - enter a password for access.

The "Settings SSH" tab

  • User - enter a login for access.
  • Password - enter a password for access.

The "Settings Telnet" tab

  • User - enter a login for access.
  • Password - enter a password for access.

Edit PDU

To edit a device, locate the one you wish to edit, click the "Edit" icon and modify the settings you want to change:

The "Basic" tab

  • Name - enter the name for the switch.
  • IP address - enter an IP address.
  • Rack - select a rack where the equipment will be located.
  • Notes - provide additional information related to this PDU.
  • Notes - provide additional information related to the switch.

The number of tabs depends on the device selected.

Delete PDU

To delete a PDU, select it from the list and click the "Delete" icon. Confirm that you want to delete the selected PDU by clicking OK on the following form..

Update PDU

This function is used to collect information about ports. Select the device and click the "Refresh" icon. All the information will be available in the PDU ports module.
