Router management

This module can be used for routers management. You can add new devices, edit and delete existing equipment, and view the interfaces.

View a list of routers

  • Name - the name of the router.
  • Host name - hostname of this router. This information is collected automatically, if the device supports this functionality.
  • Device type - a type of the router.
  • IP address - the IP address of the switch.
  • Rack - the rack where this equipment is installed. Not displayed in DCImanager Essential.
  • Notes - additional information related to this switch.

Add router

To register a new router , click the "Create" icon and fill out the form:

  • Name - enter the name for the router.
  • IP address - enter an IP address that will be used to access the device.
  • Device - select a type of the router.
  • Rack - select a rack where this equipment is installed. Not displayed in DCImanager Essential.
  • Notes - provide additional information related to the router.

The number of tabs will vary depending on the device selected.

The "SNMP settings"

  • Version - SNMP version, supported by these devices.
  • Community - community for access to the device (only for SNMP v1 and v2c).
  • Privileges - access level (only for SNMP v3)
  • User - enter the login for access.
  • Password - enter the password for access.

The "Settings SSH" tab

  • User - enter the login for access.
  • Password - enter the password for access.

The "Settings Telnet" tab

  • User - enter the login for access.
  • Password - enter the password for access.

Edit router

To edit a device, locate the one you wish to edit, click the "Edit" icon and modify the settings you want to change:

The "Basic" tab

  • Name - enter the name for the router.
  • IP address - enter an IP address.
  • Rack - select a rack where this equipment is installed. Not displayed in DCImanager Essential.
  • Apply to servers - select the check box to apply this rack to all the associated servers.
  • Notes - provide additional information related to the router.

Delete router

To delete a router, select it from the list and click the "Delete" icon. Confirm that you want to delete the selected router by clicking OK on the following form.

Get information from routers

This function is used to collect information about ports. Select the device and click the "Refresh" icon.
