Selecting cluster node automatically

A cluster node can be selected automatically when creating a container, during migration or import from VDSmanager.

The node is selected according to the following scheme:

  • A list of active cluster nodes that does note have unresolved notifications is generated. An active node is the one where new containers can be automatically created.
  • The list is sorted based on the number of containers of cluster nodes in acceding order.
  • The system checks the maximum number of cluster nodes for each node. If the limit is exceeded, that node will be excluded.

If the check box "Allow overselling" is not selected in the Policy module, that node will be selected.

Thus, the node, where the fewest containers are created will be selected automatically

If the check box "Allow overselling" is selected:

  • Free resources (RAM, disk space, CPU) are checked for each node. It will be calculated how much resources will be available upon container creation. Actual values on the cluster nodes + values of the container you are going to create are taken. If not less than 10% of each resource are available upon container creation, the node will be selected.

Thus, if overselling is allowed, the node where the fewest containers are created and which has enough resources will be selected.
