Jump to: navigation, search

Complete the steps described in the article Installation guide to install IPmanager 5.

Be sure to set the MIGRATION=mgr5 environment variable

export MIGRATION=mgr5

Stop IPmanager 4 to avoid data unsynchronization

chmod -x /usr/local/ispmgr/bin/ipmgr
killall ipmgr

Import data into new IPmanager

/usr/local/mgr5/sbin/mgrctl -m ipmgr import4 clear=on

Enter the path to the directory where you want to install IPmanager, if it differs from the default one (/usr/local/mgr5). If your new IPmanager contains important data, remove the clear=on parameter, otherwise the data will be deleted before importing.

Once completed, the program will return either OK or an error message. Make sure that the data have been successfully imported and no errors have occurred due to data corruption in the old version.

Execute

grep "WARNING" /usr/local/mgr5/var/ipmgr.log | grep ipmgr

Resolve the issues, if any and try again.

The existing /24 networks will be combined while importing. User access privileges will be optimized, the intersecting ranges will be combined into one.

Modify the URL to IPmanager in all the software products that are integrated with IPmanager.

Alternatively, you can use the old URL for your new IPmanager. We do not recommend using this variant unless you are an experienced web-server administrator. Moreover, this variant depends on your server settings and other requirements.

Known issues

The error "WARNING Access - ip insert problem. Ip 10.10.10.10 not found" occurred while importing the data.

IPmanager searches for a reverse IP in the network's reverse zone file. The error may occur in case of the incorrect reverse zone in the named configuration file. Or if PTR for the specified IP is missing in the zone file.
