This module can be used to create and manage VMmanager user accounts. After you have installed VMmanager, add your first user and use the root login and password to access the system.

Once you logged into the system, create a new user in this module.

A VMmanager user can have one of the following roles:

  • Administrator - can use a wide range of functions for VMmanager management (he can create and manage user accounts, virtual machines, monitor statistical information, etc.);
  • User - can manage only virtual machines and volumes allocated to his account.

View a list of users

  • Id - the unique identifier of the user.
  • Login - the username that is used to gain access to the control panel.
  • User role - the user's role in VMmanager:
    • Administrator - has full access to VMmanager functions;
    • User - can manage only virtual machines and volumes that are allocated to his account.
    • VM count - the number of virtual machines this user has created.
  • Status - the current status of the user account:
P-onn.png - the selected user account is active.
P-off.png - the selected user account is not active.
P-root.png - the selected user account has administrator permissions.
P-reseller.png - the selected user account can create and delete virtual machines.

Add user

To create a new user, clcik the "Create" icon and fill out the form:

  • User role - select a role for the user you want to create:
    • Administrator - has full access to VMmanager functions;
    • User - can manage only virtual machines and volumes that are allocated to his account.
  • Login - enter the username to access VMmanager.
  • Password - enter the password to access VMmanager. It should be a combination of characters that is difficult to guess. The password can be randomly generated by the system. To get one, click a special button next to the field.
  • Confirm password - retype the password to ensure it is correct. If it was generated by the system, confirmation is set automatically.
  • Can create virtual machines - select the check box if you want to allow this user to create and delete virtual machines yourself.

The "User limits" tab

  • Virtual machines - enter the number of virtual machines that this user can create.
  • ISO-size - enter the maximum ISO size.
  • Number of ISO - enter the maximum number of ISO-images that this user can upload.
  • Number of VM snapshots - enter the maximum number of virtual machine's snapshots that this user this user can create.

Edit user

To edit user properties, select it from the list, click the "Edit" icon and modify the data.

Note: you cannot change the user's role.

Delete user

To delete a user, select it from the list and click the "Delete" icon. Confirm that you want to delete the user by clicking "OK" in the following form.

Browse to User panel

You can access the control panel with privileges of any user. Select it from the list and click the "Enter" icon.

Once drilled down, you will be able to manage the control panel with privileges of the selected user.

To return to your level, click the link next to the welcome line.
