List of mail domains

This module can be used to create new mail domains, edit and delete existing ones, view email boxes and redirects of a specific mail domain.

View a list of mail domains

  • Name - name of the mail domain.
  • Default action - the action that is needed when an e-mail is received stating that a mailbox does not exist.
    • Reply error - the sender will be notified that the mailbox does not exist (recommended).
    • Ignore and drop - if the mailbox does not exist, the user will not receive delivery failure reports. The Mail server will not accept mail and will delete it.
    • Redirect to domain - e-mail messages from unknown senders will be redirected to this domain.
    • Redirect to address - e-mail messages from unknown senders will be redirected to this mailbox.
  • Owner - control panel user name, the mail domain owner.
  • IP address - IP address assigned to this mail domain.
  • Properties - current status of the mail server:
P-onn.png - this mail domain is active.
P-off.png - this mail domain is suspended.

Create new mail domain

To create a new mail domain, click the "New" icon and fill out the form:

  • Name - enter the name of the mail domain that you want to add.
  • Owner - select the owner of this mail domain.
  • IP address select an IP address to send emails through the SMTP protocol.
  • Default action - select the action that is needed when an e-mail is received stating that a mailbox does not exist:
    • Reply error - the sender will be notified that the mailbox does not exist (recommended).
    • Ignore and drop - if the mailbox does not exist, the user will not receive delivery failure reports. Mail server will not accept mail and will delete it.
    • Redirect to domain - if the mailbox does not exist, the user will be prompted for an alternative mail domain.
      • Redirect to - provide a domain name. All email messages from unknown senders will be redirected to this address.
    • Redirect to email address - the message (including the ones that were sent to non-existing mail boxes) will be redirected to the specified email address (not recommended).
      • Redirect to - provide an email address. All email messages from unknown senders will be redirected to this mailbox.
  • Comment - enter any information related to this mail domain.

You can also activate Greylisting Spamassassin, DKIM and spam checks for your mail domains if needed.

Edit mail domain properties

To edit properties of the mail domain, locate the one you wish to edit, click the "Edit" icon and modify the settings you want to change.

Please note, that you cannot modify a domain name in the mail domain edit form.

Delete mail domain

To delete a mail domain, select it from the list and click the "Delete" icon. Confirm that you want to delete the selected mail domain by clicking "OK" on the following form.

Please note: deleting the mail domain will delete the mailboxes and auto-responders of this mail domain.

Drill down to User panel

You can access the control panel with privileges of the selected user. Select it from the list and click the "Enter" icon.

Once drilled down, you will be able to manage the control panel with privileges of that user.
